The new normal with Putin, Trump and Brexit? What will it mean for the Baltic Sea Region

2. oktober 2018 kl. 16.30 - 17.30 CEST

Seismic shifts in the western political landscape and a Russia steered according to a particular political project are the realities surrounding the Baltic Sea Region these days. How should the region navigate these political waters in the struggle to prosper between east and west?

Robert Nurick visits the Danish Foreign Policy Society in order to talk about two topics. Mr. Nurick will first dive into the what some have called the ‘new normal’ and give an analysis of the current world situation and to what extent it represents a new paradigm in world politics; is it actually a ‘new normal’? After this Mr. Nurick will examine to what extent these changes affect the Baltic Sea Region and what it might mean for the future of the region.

Robert Nurick was the director of the Carnegie Moscow Center and before that worked as a senior political scientist at RAND in Santa Monica, California and Washington, DC. Prior to joining RAND, Mr. Nurick was from 1981 to 1985 the assistant director and director of studies at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London.

The audience will have a chance to ask Mr. Nurick questions after his presentation.

Registration is necessary through the formular below. Non-members of The Danish Foreign Policy Society are kindly asked to pay 50 DKK via Mobilepay to 69356
