Ivan Krastev er formand for Centre for Liberal Strategies i Sofia og permanent tilknyttet Institut for humaniora i Wien. Med en lang række bogudgivelser, hvori Krastev dissekerer og analyserer den politiske samtid, har han positioneret sig selv som en af Europas mest markante nulevende tænkere.

I sin seneste bog After Europe reflekterer Krastev over den Europæiske Unions fremtid. Med højreradikale nationalistiske partier på fremgang over hele kontinentet samt englændernes Brexit står EU over for tvivl og udfordringer som aldrig før. Krastev beskæftiger sig i bogen med den overordnede politiske, økonomiske og geopolitiske situation, der ville opstå, hvis unionen skulle bryde sammen.

Krastev interviewes på scenen af Lykke Friis, Europa-ekspert, formand for Det Udenrigspolitiske Selskab samt prorektor for Københavns Universitet. 

Foredraget er arrangeret i samarbejde med Det Kongelige Bibliotek og Informations Forlag.

Ivan Krastev is Chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia and permanent fellow at the Institute of Human Sciences in Vienna. He has published numerous books in which he scrutinizes the politics of our age. With these books, Krastev has positioned himself as one of Europe’s most significant current thinkers. 

In his latest book After Europe, Krastev reflects upon the future of the European Union (EU). With far-right nationalist parties on the rise across the continent and the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, the EU is facing doubts and challenges that it has never encountered before. In his book, Krastev addresses the overall political, economic, and geopolitical situation which would arise if the union were to collapse. 

Krastev will be interviewed on stage by Lykke Friis who is an expert on Europe, Chairman of the Danish Foreign Policy Society, and Provost at the University of Copenhagen.
