Det har længe været et stort ønske at få professor Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller til København og tale for Selskabets medlemmer om bl.a. oliens rolle i international politik, og det er nu lykkedes i samarbejde med Center for Militære Studier og ThinkChina.dk.
Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller har i mange år været en markant stemme i samfundsdebatten. Han er Visiting Senior Research Fellow ved Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS). Adjungeret professor ved Singapore Management University & Copenhagen Business School. Han er desuden forfatter til en række bøger, senest The Veil of Circumstance: Technology, Values, Dehumanization and the Future of Economics and Politics fra 2016.
Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller har i mange år været bosat i Singapore, hvortil han blev udnævnt som ambassadør for Danmark fra 1997. I 2005 trak han sig tilbage fra diplomatisk tjeneste, men forud var gået en karriere som departementschef i Udenrigsministeriet og som ambassadør i Sydøstasien og Oceanien – ud over Singapore og Brunei, Australien og New Zealand.
Han er æresalumne i Københavns Universitets Alumneforening og medlem af the Global Advisory Council, World Future Society.

It has long been the wish of The Danish Foreign Policy Society to host Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller for a talk on the role of oil in international politics, among other issues. Our wish has now been granted, and we are very happy to invite you to this talk, held in collaboration with the Centre for Military Studies at the University of Copenhagen and ThinkChina.dk.
Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller has been a prominent voice in debates about the political economy and international politics for decades. He is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) and an Adjunct Professor at Singapore Management University & Copenhagen Business School. Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller is also the author of a number of books, most recently The Veil of Circumstance: Technology, Values, Dehumanization and the Future of Economics and Politics (2016).
Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller has lived in Singapore for many years, where he was appointed Danish ambassador to in 1997. In 2005 he retired from diplomatic service – a position which is preceded by a career as Permanent Secretary in the Danish Foreign Ministry and ambassador in Southeast Asia and Oceania – in addition to Singapore, Brunei, Australia and New Zealand.
Moreover, Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller holds an Honorary Degree from the University of Copenhagen’s alumni association (UCPH Alumni) and is a member of the Global Advisory Council, World Future Society.
