DUS Aarhus: COP27
26. oktober 2022 kl. 19.00 - 20.30 CEST
In less than 3 weeks the countries of the world are once again coming together for the international climate meeting COP27, this year taking place in Egypt. Here world leaders will take the temperature of the global climate challenges and discuss possible solutions to the challenges of the future. They will also follow up on previous agreements and developments since COP26 in Glasgow, including the Glasgow Climate Pact which entails the promise to reduce the gap between the current climate reduction policies.
The Danish Minister for Climate Dan Jørgensen has previously pointed out that these goals for reduction will demand ‘special commitments by the greatest emitters in the world’ and has also expressed the need for more ambitious reduction goals.
In other words, the climate is back on the international agenda.
What has happened since COP26 in Glasgow? What will be different in COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh? Which green Danish solutions can help the global development?
This and more will be discussed when The Danish Foreign Policy Society Aarhus and DOKK1 invites a panel of 3 speakers to give their view on the upcoming COP27.
At the end of the event there will be time for the audience to ask questions of the speakers.
This event will be in English.
Panelists:
- E. Mohamed Karim Fouad Sherif, Ambassador of Egypt to Denmark
- Finn Mortensen, CEO of State of Green Denmark
- Anne Højer Simonsen, Deputy chief executive of Dansk Industri (The Confederation of Danish Industry)
