Ukraine, Security, and the Future of Europe
23. februar 2026 16.00 - 17.30
Joint initiative by the Danish Foreign Policy Society and Ukraine House in Denmark
On the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine House in Denmark and the Danish Foreign Policy Society invite you to a high-level public discussion on Ukraine, European security, and the strategic consequences of not defeating Russia for Europe.
As Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to reshape Europe’s security architecture, this conversation will address the end of post–Cold War assumptions, the risks of letting Ukraine freeze or bleed, and the scenarios as well as consequencing facing Europe today — politically, militarily, and morally.
Speakers
• Gabrielius Landsbergis (online), former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania
• Anders Puck Nielsen, Military analyst, Royal Danish Defence College
• Andrii Yanevskyi, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark
• Olga Rudenko, Editor-in-Chief, The Kyiv Independent
• More speakers to be determined.
Welcoming remarks: Nataliia Popovych, Chairperson, Ukraine House in Denmark
Moderator: Charlotte Flindt Pedersen, director, Danish Foreign Policy Society
Together, the speakers will examine:
• How Ukraine’s resistance is reshaping European security thinking,
• What lessons Europe has — and has not — learned since 2014 and 2022,
• And what credible security, deterrence, and accountability must now look like.
After the panel discussion, join us for the opening of the exhibition "Voices of Dignity: Literature of Resistance." — a tribute to the Ukrainian literary voices of the early 20th and 21st century who have shaped the Ukrainian culture of resistance, including the Ukrainian writers and culture makers who died as the result of Russia’s full scale invasion, and those who continue to create under conditions of war.
Special guest appearances:
• Iryna Tsilyk – writer and filmmaker
• Rymma Ziubina – actress and cultural advocate
Wine will be served.
Registrations are handled by Ukraine House in Denmark.
