U35: Global Crisis Simulation 2026

The Global Crisis Simulation 2026 is a one-day, live, role-based crisis exercise held in Copenhagen in March 2026.
This first edition is centred on a Taiwan Strait blockade scenario and is based on the established wargame Jaws of the Dragon.
Participants are placed inside a fast-moving international crisis marked by uncertainty, time pressure, and competing interests. Information is incomplete, decisions carry consequences, and escalation is always possible. There is no concept of “winning”. The objective is to manage escalation and understand how contemporary crises evolve in practice.
You will be assigned a political, military, economic, diplomatic, media, or national resilience role within a national or functional team. Throughout the day, you will coordinate with allies, engage adversaries, respond to unfolding events, and navigate trade-offs across policy domains.
The simulation focuses on
• Decision-making under uncertainty and time pressure
• Trade-offs between escalation, restraint, and credibility
• Coordination across politics, diplomacy, military force, economics, and information
• Real-time consequences of strategic choices
Practical information
• Friday 13 March: Afternoon (precise time TBA)
• Saturday 14 March: 09:00 - 18:00
• Application deadline: 19 February at 23:59
Participation is limited. Roles are allocated based on stated preferences, background, and the overall balance of the simulation.
Eligibility
This simulation is open to:
• Students enrolled in International Business and Politics (IBP) at CBS
• Members of DUS U35
• Members of YATA Denmark
• Cadets at the Royal Danish Defence Academy
If you are not currently a member of DUS U35, membership must be obtained before applying.
