Denmark and Latvia in the UN Security Council: Navigating a Changing World Order

During the event, representatives from the Foreign Ministries of Latvia and Denmark will share their experience and perspectives on the priorities of both countries in the UN Security Council, as well as on the cooperation that began on 1 January 2026.
• Ms Katrīna Kaktiņa, UN Director at Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will outline Latvia’s priorities and expectations as it has taken up its two-year term on the Council.
• Ms Louise Riis Andersen, Security Council Coordinator at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will speak about Denmark’s ongoing work in the Security Council.
• Ms Charlotte Flindt Pedersen, Director of the Danish Foreign Policy Society, will lead the discussion.
